If you set the team up
Co-managers, and paying for your season
Sharing the job
Almost no team is run by one person. There are two ways in, and which one you use depends on whether they have a child on the team.
A parent already on the team was invited to their own child from the roster, like any other family. Find them in the members list afterwards and give them what they need.
A coach has no child to be attached to, so they get their own invitation. In the members list, type their email address, choose what they are called — coach, assistant coach, team manager, scorekeeper — and send it. The link only works for the address you typed, so a forwarded one cannot add anybody else.
Titles and permissions are separate
What somebody is called and what they can do are two different things, on purpose.
A title puts them on the team sheet and nothing more, which is why anybody running the team can set one. Plenty of clubs want the assistant coach named without handing them the roster.
What they can do is two switches:
- Live tracker — start and run a match. Anyone running the team can give this out, including with the invitation itself.
- Manage team — everything you can do short of owning it. Only the owner can give this, so whoever runs the team cannot quietly hand out copies of their own access.
You control what each person can do, so the parent who scores one match in October does not also get to delete the roster.
One payment covers the team, however many people run it. Somebody you have given permission to is never charged separately. The team is the thing that is paid for, not the seat.
Handing the team over
The person who sets a team up is not always the person who ends up running it. A parent pays for the season and the team manager does the work; a club creates the team and gives it to the coach.
From the members list, hand this team over to somebody else. They have to be on the team already, you type the team's name to confirm, and you both get an email saying it happened.
Afterwards they are the owner and decide who runs the team. You keep your place and can still manage it until they remove you — you are usually the parent who paid, and dropping you to a spectator the moment you do the right thing would be a strange thank you.
You should see their name where yours used to be, marked as the owner.
You cannot take it back yourself. Ask the new owner to hand it back.
What it costs
$25 for one team, for six months.
That is the whole price. No per-parent charge, no per-player charge, no tier to choose. Families watching the live score pay nothing and never need an account.
Your free match
Every account gets one match free, and it is a whole match — the roster, the fixtures, the live sideline, the families following, and the season figures that appear afterwards. That is the entire product, once.
Two things worth knowing, because they surprise people:
- It is per account, not per team. Creating a second team does not produce a second free match.
- It is used the moment a match leaves scheduled, not when it finishes. So starting a match uses it, even if you stop straight away.
Paying
When the free match is used, you are asked to pay before running another. Checkout takes a card and returns you to your team.
You should see your team marked as paid, with the date it runs until.
Six months from the day you pay. A season is about six months, which is why.
Troubleshooting
I paid but my team still says unpaid. Payment confirmation can take a few seconds to arrive. Reload the team screen. If it has not changed after a minute, tell us — the payment is recorded on our side either way and nothing is lost.
I have two teams and paid for one. The pass covers one team. The other needs its own.
A co-manager is being asked to pay. They have not been added to the paid team, or they created their own team by mistake. Check which team they are looking at.
I want a refund. Ask us.
Buying PlayHub as part of a club package
If your club is on the PlayHub OS club platform, ask your club — do not buy a team pass on the assumption it will be credited.
Team passes and club subscriptions are billed separately today, and buying one does not affect the other. A club being on the platform does not currently cover its teams' passes. If that is what you were told, check with your club before paying.
If this did not answer it, say so — a real person reads these and the article gets fixed.
